Supply solutions, supporting Aboriginal Australians
Borun acknowledges Indigenous Australians as Traditional custodians of the land on which we work and the land on which we do business. We acknowledge their enduring connection to the land and custodianship of Country. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Services
Borun Trading Corporation is an Indigenous Enterprise that is Supply Nation Registered and specialises in procurement and equipment hire for the construction industry.
We support clients through the sourcing and supply of construction materials, plant, and equipment. All trading undertaken through Borun qualifies toward social procurement quotas. Where practical, Borun works within a client’s existing supplier network, integrating established supply chains with social procurement objectives. Alternatively, materials and equipment are sourced via Borun’s extensive network.

Borun Trading is directed by Jac Mifsud (Binbeal), a proud Gunditjmara man from South-West Victoria, and his school classmate Nick Thompson. Both Jac and Nick are young industry professionals who are passionate about providing lasting benefits to Indigenous communities. They are supported by shareholders with over 35 years of experience.

Our Story
Borun Trading exists to demonstrate that procurement can be a powerful force for positive and lasting change. We envision an industry where commercial success is linked to meaningful social impact and where Indigenous communities are strengthened through opportunity and long-term investment.

As an Indigenous owned enterprise operating within the construction sector, Borun Trading is committed to embedding social value into every procurement decision. Our vision focuses on genuine, measurable outcomes for Indigenous people while delivering strong commercial value for our clients.

Funds spent through Borun Trading directly support Indigenous communities. Between 2020 and 2025, Borun Trading donated 10% of annual profits to the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF), reflecting our belief in education as a pathway to opportunity. This commitment is deeply personal. Jac Mifsud, a Director of Borun Trading, was a recipient of an AIEF scholarship that supported his secondary school education. Borun proudly celebrates this full-circle journey as a core part of its identity.

In the 2026 financial year, Borun Trading has increased its contribution to 20% of annual profits and broadened the scope of charities it partners with. Through this model, every procurement decision made with Borun is designed to create tangible social impact alongside long-term commercial value.
COMMUNITY
Charity Partners
For every procurement engagement, Borun Trading commits 20% of profits to three impactful charity partners.

The Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) empowers young Indigenous Australians by removing financial barriers to quality secondary and tertiary education.
Through its Scholarship and Pathways Programs, AIEF provides funding for Indigenous students to complete year 12 or tertiary studies as well as long-term career support to help students successfully transition into further study and employment.

Borun Trading has a strong personal connection to the organisation through one of its directors, Jac, who was sponsored by the AIEF to attend secondary school. Through Jac’s journey, Borun has seen first-hand the profound impact that AIEF can have on a student’s life.

For these reasons, Borun has supported AIEF for the past five years and remains committed to growing this partnership, giving back to a personal cause and creating even greater opportunities for Indigenous students through our full-circle journey.

Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) is a specialist educational and boarding program designed to support Indigenous students from remote and regional communities to access quality secondary education in Melbourne.
Through its Year 7–8 transition and boarding programs, MITS provides a culturally safe and supportive environment that helps students adjust to urban schooling while remaining connected to family, Country, and culture.
Borun supports MITS because it enables Indigenous students to remain connected to their culture while empowering them with the confidence and support needed to pursue long-term academic and career success.

Karrkad Kanjdji Trust (KKT) is an Indigenous-led philanthropic trust supporting healthy management of Country across Arnhem Land. KKT works with eight Aboriginal controlled organisations across the region to deliver resources to projects that protect biodiversity, manage fire and climate risk, safeguard culture, and educate future custodians. All organisations are led by Indigenous rangers who draw on generations of traditional knowledge to care for Country.

Borun has partnered with KKT because its work reflects our commitment to sustainable, community-led impact. By supporting Indigenous ranger programs and on-Country education initiatives, KKT strengthens environmental resilience and cultural preservation, ensuring that traditional knowledge continues to guide the protection of land and culture for generations to come.
